Can a man over 60 years old still get approved for whole life insurance?

I am a man aged 62 whose term life insurance just ran out and now I have no life insurance. How much would it cost for me to get a new permanent policy that will last the rest of my life? I am a non-smoker with hardening arteries but in overall good health.

  1. Yes. With most companies whole life insurance is theoretically available into one's 90s. However, the older you are the more expensive it becomes. As you approach the maximum age the annual premium begins to approach the face value of the policy. In other words, it's in your interest to get whole life insurance sooner rather than later.
